Summer Supper: Join us to learn more about Justice and Mercy Legal Aid Center
StartJun 27
EndJun 27
Please join us for a summer supper to learn more about the work of the Justice and Mercy Legal Aid Center. Feel free to invite friends, just let us know they are coming so we are sure to have enough food and drinks. We have huge respect for this amazing organization. This is their mission:  Do Justice. Love Mercy. Walk Humbly. The Justice and Mercy Legal Aid Center (JAMLAC) provides free legal aid to those who struggle with poverty and oppression. In 2006, JAMLAC began the mission of providing free legal services to those who struggle with poverty, oppression, and daily hardships. We especially focus on serving low-income victims of crime and domestic violence. JAMLAC is a faith-based non-profit legal aid center in Denver that handles 50 active cases each week. Supporters and clients trust JAMLAC to be the bridge to seeking and obtaining justice for those who otherwise could not afford representation. In Colorado, there is only one legal aid lawyer for every 18,750 eligible persons. Legal issues drain the lives of many, including people who must prioritize complex legal situations instead of their homes, children, and livelihoods. To combat this and many other issues, JAMLAC provides free legal services and resources. Who qualifies for legal aid at JAMLAC? Victims of crimes Sexual assault victims Stalking victims Domestic violence victims Low-income persons Low-income immigrants Whether you are a person seeking legal services, a donor, or a volunteer, the staff at JAMLAC is ready to help reach the goal of achieving a better future for you and the Denver metro community. Last year, with the courage of many of our clients and supporters, JAMLAC was able to change the lives of over 1,000 people, 90% of whom were victims of domestic violence.

Kangaroo Experience with granola feeding
StartJun 28
EndJun 28
PLEASE READ THIS IN ITS ENTIRETY BEFORE BOOKING:  Spend 30 minutes face to face learning and interacting with Red Kangaroos. This experience includes: feeding the kangaroos treats (granola), time to take individual photos, learn about the kangaroos and marsupials from our "Zoo Crew", and learning about the missions of Zoo Chateau. The interaction will be 30 minutes and the time will start as soon as the liability waivers are signed and we have entered the kangaroo enclosure.  The itinerary for the Kangaroo experience will include: - Safety orientation on how to interact with the kangaroos (including signing release of liability) - If the roos are inside, two guests at a time will get the opportunity to go into the enclosure to feed the kangaroos and take photos as well as pet the roos. If they are outside, the group will go out into the enclosure and get the chance to individually feed and interact with and take photos with the roos.-The Zoo Crew Representative will give information about Bindi and Rooney, and kangaroos in general, and guests may ask any questions that they have- Meanwhile, the rest of the group will be watching and will be able to take photos from the viewing area (or within the enclosure) while they await their turn, or after the conclusion of their turn DISCLAIMERS: Here at Zoo Chateau, our first priority is our animal and guest safety. If for some reason we feel that it is not in the best interest of the animals or the guests, we reserve the right to cancel. In the event that Zoo Chateau cancels an interaction, guests will receive a voucher for a future date.  Please arrive on time as we will begin promptly. Entry may be refused to guests who arrive after the intended start time. Please wear clothes that you are okay with getting dirty, and come prepared to get dirt and wood shavings on your clothes.  Guests should be comfortable around all types of animals. Cats live on the property and occasionally dogs will also be present on the property. As a disclaimer, all animals are unpredictable and may be more or less interactive depending on the day. We do not force any of our animals to take food or interact with people. Zoo Chateau is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged personal property on the premises.  Please note that this interaction is not the best environment for children under three years old. If parents would like to have their children that are under 3 participate, please ensure that there is an adequate number of adults to trade off holding or watching the kids as the animals can react to crying and sudden movements. This is to make sure that you and our other guests get the most out of the interaction with our animals. Children of all ages will be charged a full ticket price due to the extremely limited space available.  FAQs What is the refund policy? A full refund will be given if it is at least 7 days before the event. If it is after the 7 day mark, there will be no refunds and no rescheduling available. Please see weather policy for questions related to refunds/cancellations in the event of poor weather.  Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a paying legal guardian or adult assuming responsibility. Waivers/release of liability must be signed as soon as you enter the property, therefore minors cannot participate in this experience on their own. Since this is a legal document, ID may be required to be presented. This will be strictly enforced.   Can someone come observe and not participate for no charge? No. Due to the limited amount of space and our intimate experience with our animals, unfortunately we cannot allow for people to just observe.  Weather Policy:  By purchasing this ticket, you understand that Colorado can have poor and unpredictable weather. In the event that Zoo Chateau cancels an interaction, a full refund will be given or rescheduling may be possible based on availability but is not guaranteed. Since many of our guests come from out of town, we try our best not to cancel interactions. We advise that you plan accordingly in the event of unpredicted weather. By giving refunds up to a week before the interaction, guests have the opportunity to check weather and get a refund if they are uncomfortable with the forecasted weather. Zoo Chateau reserves the right to turn guests away after being more than 10 minutes late to the interaction in order to be courteous to other guests on the tour and maintain our daily schedule.  What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? / Parking As for transportation, personal vehicles and Uber or Lyft are the best options. It is the first property after the gate so it is easy to locate.  Guest parking is clearly marked on the North side of the house. Guests are not permitted to drive past these signs and should not block the alley between the house and the barn.  What can I bring into the event? We encourage you to bring a camera or phone for taking photos (no flash photography), clothes that can get dirty, and closed-toed shoes. Zoo Chateau shall not be held responsible for any lost, stolen, or ruined personal items while you are participating in the interactions or while presiding on the property.  How can I contact the organizer with any questions? Please email zoochateau@gmail.com with any questions or concerns.   Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? Please have proof of ticket purchase when you arrive. This can be in the form of a ticket or just confirmation of payment and may be electronic or printed.    Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable? Your ticket can be purchased by or given to anyone. However, any additional email confirmation and information will go to the person who purchased the ticket. If you do sell or give your ticket to someone else, please ensure that they reach out to zoochateau@gmail.com with any questions or concerns. No tickets shall be purchased for the sole reason of resale. If someone is buying excess tickets, this will raise a red flag and will be blocked from purchasing tickets in the future if found to be buying them for resale.    Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends? Yes, we encourage you to purchase tickets for friends and family. However, if you give a ticket to someone else, please ensure that they receive all confirmation information associated with the ticket and that they have our contact information if they have any further questions.
